Randomness.

How are you all?

This is my dogs while I'm preparing dinner.  Hoping for some tasty tidbits.  They're going to the groomers on Saturday so I'll be sure to share some pics of their new do.

My boy has to get a brace/plate thingy on his lower jaw.  It needs to be widened or something.  I don't really understand it all.

Getting the moulds made was quite an unpleasant experience for him, especially with his sensory issues.  But he was brave and powered through.  Has to go back again on Friday for the next stage, with the fitting happening next week.

Did I ever tell you that I bred Fifi and Pierre?  Twice.  The puppies were too cute.

I found this on a whiteboard in my room the other day, left by a student.  Certainly cheered me up after another horrendous day.

Quilts.

I do like a quilt.  And I do like to make them.  Here are the ones I've made so far.

This is the first one I made.  A 'raggy' or 'shaggy' quilt.  So easy, even I could do it.

I keep it casually tossed over a chair in a corner of my bedroom.  Do you know how hard it is to casually toss something?  The cat likes to sleep on it.

I made this one for my daughter.  I fell in love with the peacock fabric.  It was fun to make - you stack the different fabrics and cut them together then join to make the big squares.

Pierre was enjoying the display so much he fell asleep

This is one I made for my boy.  Another raggy, this time out of flannel.  The colours are a bit hard to capture with the iPhone.  Can't find the batteries for my camera.  But I did find two chargers.

Notice the paw?
I love this one.  I put it over the back of the couch in winter.

Love the mix of patterns and chenille in this one.

Backing fabric
This one was a marathon.  Another for the girl.

It's been a while since I've sewn.  I have the fabric sitting there for a quilt so hopefully I'll get time one day to make it up.

I may have jumped the gun in declaring that I'm back to blogging.  I still have four weeks until holidays   and a break from Uni.  I'll share when I can, but still quite busy.

Maybe next time I'll show you the tea towels I made. A phase I was going through.

Cushion Central. Camellias.

Why hello.  It's been a while.

I met with the lovely Annie and A-M yesterday for some fine parisian fare.

We had a great time and I'm inspired to get back into blogging.  I've been very time poor but am taking a break from studying for a semester so you'll be blessed with more posts from me.

I bought these fabulous cushions that I spotted at Fun and VJs.  There are more beauties available, so get yourself over there and check them out.  I don't know what's inside them but they are really comfortable to use.

Even the dogs approve
I can't find either of the batteries for my camera so you'll have to put up with my dodgy iPhone pics.

I got this elephant cushion on clearance at Target a while ago, and don't think I've shared it with you.  Love it to bits.

There's been lots of this happening around here.

I babysat a kitten for a night.  Never again.  Don't ask.

This is my children this morning.

How many animals can you spot amongst their squalor? The kids don't count.

Does anybody know what this is on my camellia?

Off to lunch with friends today and a Game of Thrones marathon tonight.

Have a great weekend xx

7 Random Things About Me

The lovely Annie from Red Roses and Crystals has passed this on.  There truly is some amazing stuff about me.

I can't dive
I've always had a phobia about going head first into the water.  Growing up, we always had tennis lessons, piano lessons, swimming lessons etc.  Mum sent me along specifically to learn to dive but I just couldn't do it.

I'm aracnaphobic
Absolutely terrified of spiders.  If there's one in the house, I have to get someone in to kill it.  I can't see the point in moving them outside - the little buggers will just come back in again.  I can't look at pictures of them.  I've often had nightmares about them.  Suffice to say, I will not be including an image of one.

I am totally in love with karaoke
Can't sing to save myself, but have a blast anyway.   I don't need to drink to do it.  No party at my house will end without a rip at Singstar.

It took me five attempts to get my driver's licence
Yep, pretty bad.  On one test, attempting a reverse park I hit one car on the way in and another one on the way out.

Tea
I love a good coffee, but I always need a cup of tea to start my day.

My Family
I'm the youngest of five children - three boys and two girls.  Between us we have 18 children and 4 grandchildren.

Holiday Snaps
We had a fabulous time at Chateaubriand Bay in Lifou.  The people are so friendly and welcoming, the scenery just stunning.

Another favourite is from a morning in New Zealand.  Snow fell overnight and we awoke to the most gorgeous scene.

Now that was a fascinating read, wasn't it?

I'm passing this on to M from Two Beaches and A Lake.  Have fun M!

We're heading off to the Sunshine Coast shortly.  Checking in at my parents' place.

Weekend.

Eventful weekend here, but not in a real good way.

It started off good, with my girl returning from her first camp.  She had a blast and it was great to have her home with us again. But her and her big brother ended up being ratty.  Felt like I was talking to myself where they were concerned.  Drove me nuts.

It all ended up being too much.  Spent the afternoon mowing the lawn and potting up some plants.  It was all very soothing.

Only five days till we're on holidays again!

So...

How have you all been?  Thank you for your well wishes.  I am on the mend.  I've had a few months of chronic sinus infection.  I'm now on some killer antibiotics and steroid spray.  I've just gotten home from the doc and my latest liver function test has come in a bit better than usual.

No relevance to my post but I like this pic.  Was a beautiful day with the bestest friend ever.
It's true what they say - your body starts to pack it in when you hit 40.

I really haven't been up to much.  Been hanging out with the kids and my fellow.  That's right. Some of you know,  but most don't.  I've been seeing someone and it's going fabulously.  Having been so unwell, I've been laying quite low so have felt there's really not much to blog about.  Now I'm getting better, I'm sure there'll be some adventures that may be mildly interesting.  But probably only when you're incredibly bored and desperate for something to do.

I searched pinterest for some images, because I'm too lazy to take any and upload them.  Plus, I don't have anything interesting to photograph.

Be good. xx
